Let’s Talk

We exist to amplify voices that catalyze positive change.

Sparx is a minority-owned and -led, full-service marketing agency on a mission to make the world better. Since 2012, we’ve helped changemakers amplify their impact stories to shift perspectives, inspire collaboration, and ignite action.

Our story

Like the circular economy, our path wasn’t linear—but making the world better has always been at the centre. Back in 2011, we created a platform that empowered Canadians to take control of their financial wellbeing. While we have since shifted gears, the marketing engine we built behind it is thriving today as Sparx Publishing Group. We welcomed our first client in 2014 (who has since been with us ever since), and we’ve been privileged to work with world-changing organizations and individuals, from a leading expert on the Wellbeing Economy to Alberta’s biggest recycler.

Beyond marketing, we’re committed to walking our talk. Thoroughly integrated in the sustainability community, we’re proud to be a member of the Recycling Council of British Columbia and the Recycling Council of Alberta, and partners with the Coast Waste Management Association, PNW Climate Week, and Share Reuse Repair Initiative – Shift Life Program.

We’re also highly involved in circularity events across Canada, including sponsoring the Circular Economy Summit, co-curating the Circular Economy track of the Victoria Forum 2026, sponsoring the Circular Champion category of Synergy Foundation’s 2026 Ecostar Awards, and more.

Additionally, we run a twice-yearly digital and print publication, Circular Economy Magazine. Each issue spotlights the organizations, programs, and ideas advancing the circular economy and building a more sustainable future.

The years

  1. 2012With financial know-how and a passion to level the playing field for investors, we created our online brokerage platform, Sparx Trading. The marketing engine built to support it would become Sparx Publishing Group.
  2. 2014We welcomed our first client, the Canadian Securities Exchange. We’re proud to continue our partnership with the CSE as they evolve, making them our longest-running client.
  3. 2017We made some big swings and achieved some big goals. Not only did we broaden our content services beyond finance, but we grew our team and published the first (of many) client magazines built end to end.
  4. 2021We launched our first in-house magazine, Make The World Better Magazine, which featured seven world-changing organizations, including Plan International Canada and Salt Spring Coffee. This marked a milestone in our journey to being a fully purpose-driven marketing agency.
  5. 2024Seeing the potential for circular economy adoption, we decided to hone in on circularity as a focus point. While we still work with clients from various industries, our main target has since been stewardship, recycling, and other facets of the circular economy.
  6. 2025We launched the first issue of Circular Economy Magazine, made in collaboration with Circular Economy Leadership Canada and the Circular Innovation Council, in April 2025.
  7. 2026Through the end of 2025 into 2026, our portfolio of clients in the circular economy space has expanded. This includes stewardship programs, recyclers, a plastics taskforce, and an emissions innovation centre.
